December 16, 2011 According to Dr. Chris Kuehl, economic analyst for FMA, if U.S. coherently addresses 4 key issues that impact the economy - employment, consumer behavior, global economic strain, and the role of politicians - the country can expect growth of around 3% in 2012. If not, U.S. will wallow in 1-1.5% territory. These 4 areas are the ones most people pay close attention to, and are in great flux. Permanent changes will have a significant long-term impact that extends beyond 2012.
Sequestration Trigger clouds aerospace picture.
Aerospace Industries Association    Arlington, VA 22209-3928
December 16, 2011 Failure of deficit reduction supercommittee and specter of sequestration cuts cast a shadow on a relatively strong year for aerospace industry. According to AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey, annual sales are going to be up across the board in 2011, but things are expected to change in 2012. Sequestration cuts could cost the industry dearly in years ahead, with projected job losses in the hundreds of thousands and more than a million jobs at stake in the broader economy.
