ASTM Committee is developing proposed PTA test standard.

August 2, 2012 There are 2 proposed ASTM standards being developed that will be used to find major impurities in purified terephthalic acid (PTA) product. Said standards are ASTM WK36121 and K36122, Test Method for Determination of p-Toluic Acid and 4-Carboxybenzaldehyde in Purified Terephthalic Acid by High Performance Liquid Chromatography; and High Performance Capillary Electrophoresis, respectively. Both are being developed by Subcommittee D16.02 on Oxygenated Aromatics.
ASTM Standard helps determine endovascular device shelf life.

August 2, 2012 ASTM F2914, Guide for Identification of Shelf-Life Test Attributes for Endovascular Devices, was developed by Subcommittee F04.30 on Cardiovascular Standards, part of ASTM International Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices. Standard will enable companies to use engineering testing or fundamental engineering principles to justify whether certain attributes are unaffected by age and whether they need to be tested after aging.
ASABE revises protective agents terminology/definition standard.

August 2, 2012 ASAE S327.4, Terminology and Definitions for Application of Crop or Forestry Production and Protection Agents, was previously titled Terminology and Definitions for Application of Crop, Animal, or Forestry Production and Protection Agents. Governing committee determined standard is no longer used for animal production, and title and scope were revised accordingly. Other changes include format pagination updates and clarifications to spray drift and air assist sprayer definitions.
ASABE Completes Revision to ISO standard for front-mounted PTO.

Specifically, this standard covers requirements and test methods for materials, workmanship, dimensions, perforations, pipe stiffness, elongation, joint separation resistance, quality of extruded polyethylene, brittleness, testing and marking.
ASTM Develops Standard for low-speed vehicle barriers.

August 1, 2012 ASTM WK13074, Test Method for Low Speed Barriers for Errant Vehicles, aims to minimize damage caused by automobile crashes at storefront or other pedestrian areas. Standard will specifically cover bollards, barriers, gates, planters, and other products, used in instances not already covered by high-security K-rated bollards, designed to provide simple security, pedestrian protection, or denial of access to vehicles less than 4,500 lb at traffic speeds of 30 mph and under.

This complete rewrite incorporates list of changes. As next step, ASABE will propose EP363.2 be used as basis for revision of corresponding, identically titled international standard ISO 3600:1996.

It supplements existing ASTM standards and provides consensus definitions for more than 180 terms.
