In addition to showcasing latest products and services, show will include "hands-on highway", which offers exhibits that attendees can operate on their own with no formal training. Some topics on agenda include robotics basics, lighting and optics for machine vision, integrating robot and machine vision systems, and developments in robot safety.

ELFA suggests extension of renewable energy production tax credits and investment tax credits on multi year basis for solar, wind, and geothermal energy property. As incoming Administration considers health care, ELFA proposes to allow tax-exempt medical institutions access to cost effective financing sources for high technology equipment.

BIO says renewable biofuels can create Green jobs.

January 13, 2009 Joining 33 other renewable energy, environmental, and agricultural groups, BIO asked Congressional leaders to include funding for important Farm Bill programs and extension of renewable energy production tax credits in economic recovery legislation. Funding existing research and development programs and extending tax credits for clean energy production can speed completion of renewable energy projects that create jobs and generate economic activity.

NTSB commends Ohio for enacting booster seat law.

January 13, 2009 NTSB praised Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and members of state legislature for enacting booster seat law, which mandates that children between ages of 4 and 8 and less than 4 ft 9 in. use booster seat in motor vehicles. NTSB also recognized commitment of all members of Ohio Booster Seat Coalition for their hard work over many years to enact this important legislation.

January 7, 2009 ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, has been established by DOE as commercial building reference standard for state building energy codes under federal Energy Policy Act. DOE determined that Standard 90.1-2004 saves more energy than Standard 90.1-1999, which was the previously referenced standard. ASHRAE is working on 2010 version of Standard 90.1 with goal of achieving 30% energy savings compared to 90.1-2004.
