ELFA releases survey of economic activity.

July 8, 2008 According to ELFA's MLFI-25 Monthly Leasing and Financing Index, which reports economic activity for $650 billion equipment finance sector, overall new business volume for May increased 6.5% when compared to same period in 2007. Originations month-to-month remained flat, stabilizing at $7.2 billion, while receivables in less-than-30 day category were 97.0% in May, up slightly from prior month. Credit approval ratios increased 2.3% from 73.9% to 76.2% when compared to prior month.

July 8, 2008 NEMA has published LL 8-2008, Limits on Mercury Content in Self-ballasted Compact Fluorescent Lamps. Published by the NEMA Lamp Section, it covers limited integral, self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) of all base types, such as E26 and GU24. The document provides an industry process to commit to a voluntary maximum mercury dose level per lamp and applies to integral, self-ballasted CFLs manufactured or imported after April 15, 2007.
