One Week Remains to submit comments on ISO strategic plan.

June 3, 2009 There is one week left in which to submit input to ANSI on the consultation document for the ISO Strategic Plan 2011-2015. Interested stakeholders are urged to submit comments by June 5, 2009 and register for the related ANSI workshop, which will be held June 25-26 in Washington, D.C. While various issues and related specific questions are featured in the consultation document, respondents should feel free to comment on any aspect of ISO and its standards development.
ANSI submits response to U.S. Standards Policies survey.

June 3, 2009 In response to first question of National Survey on U.S. Standards Policies, ANSI asserts that no change in current private sector-led and public sector-supported standardization system is warranted. In response to second survey question, ANSI agrees that U.S. should increase its support for standards education programs and endorses Strategic Initiative 10 of United States Standards Strategy. ANSI's response is available online in .pdf and Microsoft Word formats.

June 3, 2009 ANSI has added International Board of Standards, ID Experts, City of Hampton, PetSmart, and HealthMarkets Company as new members. Organizations join federation that represents more than 125,000 companies and over 3.5 million professionals. They will gain access to information and business intelligence not available elsewhere, according to Brian Meincke, and will build relationships giving them voice and influence over standardization and conformity assessment decisions.
ANSI seeks comments on proposed sustainability standard.

June 3, 2009 Associaco Brasileira de Normas Tecnicas and British Standards Institution submitted joint proposal for ISO standard on sustainability in event management. Proposal suggests development of standard that will establish, implement, maintain, and improve sustainability management systems for events, with guidelines to minimize and manage environmental, financial, and social impacts linked to related issues. ANSI invites interested stakeholders to submit comments by July 10, 2009.

It has added EAP-FAST and EAP-AKA to program, with Open System Consultants authentication server joining Microsoft and Devicescape servers in certification test environment. Supplicant from Open1X Project has been also been added to test suite.

It details the purpose, scope, findings. and recommendations. These include the development of emergency/disaster exercises, planning scenarios and response actions, as well as standards-based solutions.
