Uncoated Prisms achieve 90° light path bend.

Used with well-collimated light sources, IR Right Angle Prisms utilize total internal reflection for right angle path bend. They are available with Calcium Fluoride substrate, which has refraction of 1.434 and provides transmission from 190 nm to 7 µm, in 12.7, 25.4, and 38.1 mm sizes. Prisms are also available with Germanium, suited for applications in 3-12 µm region, and Zinc Selenide with transmission from 1-16 µm. Germanium/Zinc Selenide units are available in 12.7 and 25.4 mm sizes.

Retroreflector is designed to aid precision alignment.

Made from material with coefficient of thermal expansion of 0.5 mm/°C, UV Fused Silica Corner Cube Retroreflector offers transmission in UV, visible, and near-IR. When any laser beam hits corner cube, it reflects back in direction that it came, irrespective of what angle it arrived at. Available in 4 sizes ranging from 7.16 mm to slightly more than 50 mm in dia with larger sizes offering 3 arc-sec beam deviation, unit comes with or without aluminum coating.

Right Angle Prism features thermally stable design.

Techspec(TM) UV Fused Silica five sided penta prisms shorten optical path lengths by reflect light rays through two reflections through 90° angle without inverting or reverting images. UV grade fused silica composition offers thermal expansion coefficient of 0.5 µ/°C. Features include various coating options such as aluminized, inconel, and black paint, as well as uncoated or UV-AR coated exit faces.

Hollow Penta Prisms offer short optical path lengths.

Hollow, penta prisms employ 2 coated, mirrored surfaces oriented at 45° to redirect incoming light 90° without inverting or reversing image. Products are available with visible (Enhanced Aluminum) or IR (Protected Gold) coatings. Beam deviations of 30, 10, or 5 arc seconds are available in 12.7 and 25.4 mm clear apertures. Accuracy of existing wavefront varies from 0.25-1 wave (depending on the model chosen), and mirrors are mounted in integratable package.

Circular Differential Interference Contrast (C-DIC) prism uses circularly polarized light in contrast to conventional DIC to solve insufficient contrast problems observed in classical brightfield and darkfield microscopy. It allows fine surface structures to be observed with high contrast and resolution simultaneously, independent of orientation. Product is inserted into compensator mount of microscope and is used with 2 sliders. No stage or object rotation is required.

This story is related to the following:
<a href='http://news.thomasnet.com/news/optics-photonics' target='_blank''>Optics and Photonics

Search for suppliers of: <a href='http://www.thomasnet.com/products/optical-prisms-63542559-1.html' target='_blank''>Optical Prisms
