Metal spring on catch optimizes mechanical locking properties of plastic housing, and in combination with metal striker, assembly is suited for harsh, outdoor applications. Push fit facilitates installation, and striker can be released with minimal pull effort. Catch housing is manufactured with Nylon 6/6, and strikers are manufactured from acetal or plated steel.
