Sep 04, 2008 Offered in .045, 1/16, and 3/32 in. dia, self-shielded electrodes are designed for welding stainless steels and cladding of carbon steels. SelectAlloy 308LTO-3 (E308LTO-3) contains nominal weld metal composition of 21% chromium and 10% nickel with maximum carbon content of .03%, while SelectAlloy 309LTO-3 (E309LTO-3) has nominal weld metal composition of 24% chromium and 13% nickel with maximum carbon content of .03%. Compositions make weld metal resistant to intergranular corrosion.
