Santa Clara, CA 95054-1112
Mar 05, 2003 Multi-kilowatt, water-cooled Models PM1K-100, PM3K-100, and PM5K-100, with 100 mm diameter surface area, and Model PM5K-200, with 200 mm diameter surface area, measure energy output of diode laser bars, large cross-section laser beams, diode laser arrays, and high-divergence laser beams. Probes measure output of lasers ranging from 0.19–11 µm with 1 W power resolution. Devices feature maximum average power density of 26 kW/cm2 and maximum pulse energy density of 0.6 J/cm2. |
Power Meters spot check laser power.Coherent Inc., Laser Group
Santa Clara, CA 95054-1112
Feb 27, 2003 LaserGage LG100 and LG500 are portable, microprocessor-controlled meters that exhibit ±3% accuracy and ±5% repeatability. Model LG100 features 10–100 W power range with 0.1 W resolution, while Model LG500 features 50–500 W range with 0.5 W resolution. Two line x 12 character display provides measurements. Meters can be set to automatically trigger to laser beam and self-time 5 sec power measurement. They are battery-operated and include AUTO-OFF feature.

Laser Energy Probes feature proprietary coating.Coherent Inc., Laser Group
Santa Clara, CA 95054-1112
Feb 24, 2003 MaxBlack laser energy probes, J25LP-MB and J45LP-MB, measure laser pulse energy from 200 µJ to 2J at rep rates to 1,000 pps from 0.19 to 11 µm. Probes perform at fluency levels up to 265 mJ/cm2 at 1064 nm. Proprietary coating offers significant improvements over large-area, black-painted probes. Probes are more resistant to scratches and laser damage yet maintain features such as flat spectral response and low reflectance. |
Power Probe offers high repeatability.Directed Light, Inc.
San Jose, CA 95134
Feb 20, 2003 LaserPoint Fit 10 mW automatic, handheld power probe calculates laser power by microprocessor-based measurement of temperature dynamics and provides ±1% repeatability and ±3% accuracy. Two models are offered, covering multiple wavelengths with powers from 500 mW to 200 W. Multifunction LCD simultaneously displays power and wavelength of calibration. Two AA batteries provide enough power for more than 4000 measurements. |
Thermal Absorber Head measures power of q-switched YAG lasers.Ophir Optronics, Inc.
Danvers, MA 01923
Jan 28, 2003 Volume Absorbing Head, Model 30(150)A-HE-DIF offers average power measurements up to 30 W, continuous or 150 W, intermittent. Energy density rating is 5 J/cm² for 1064 nm, and max average power density is 500 W/cm². Unit provides 3 digital power scales of 3, 30, and 150 W and response time of 4 sec. Information is stored in EEPROM of absorber head and downloaded when display is attached and turned on, making all heads plug-and-play ready. |
