With single continuous length of optical fiber wound into 1.5 in. dia housing, Model DSP-1500 features scale factor of 0.1% and bias stability of less than 5°/h. Tethered design enables sensor to be installed separately from power and processing circuit boards. Utilizing DSP electronics, which virtually eliminate temperature-sensitive drift and rotation errors, miniature unit is suited for demanding commercial stabilization and pointing applications in land vehicles, aircraft, and vessels.

Offering range of 30-6,000 dps, gyroscopes can provide unamplified output value for general detection of angular motion and 4x amplification for high-resolution measurements, simultaneously. Noise affecting output signal is limited to 0.014 dps/sqrt Hz at 30 dps full-scale. Stability is optimized over wide temperature range and time, with variation under 0.05 dps/°C for zero-rate level, eliminating need for temperature compensation. Units operate with supply voltages from 2.7-3.6 V.

Vertical Gyro (MMQ(TM)-VG) and Attitude, Heading, and Reference System (MMQ(TM)-AHRS) incorporate Six-Degree-of-Freedom MEMS Inertial Measurement Unit, which provides Roll, Pitch, and Heading (AHRS only) angle solution in varying dynamic conditions. Roll and Pitch are stabilized by IMU accelerometers, and heading is stabilized by external 3-axis magnetometer. While Vertical Gyro meets TSO-C4c Bank and Pitch angle requirements, AHRS meets TSO-C4c and TSO-C6D Heading performance.
