Units are insensitive to DC currents and only AC component of signal is measured. Available in 6 and 10 in. lengths, sensors are insulated for 1,000 V CAT III; 600 V CAT IV. Electronic module provides Off-Low Range-High Range selections with measurements from 0.5-3,000 A.

Applied current flows through copper conduction path, and analog output voltage from Hall sensor IC linearly tracks magnetic field generated by applied current. For low power loss, internal resistance of copper path used for current sensing is typically 1 mW.

Probes offer user-selectable attenuation settings and come with various probe tip accessories for use with small and large components in tight places. Each probe can accurately measure up to 3.5 nsec of fast transient edges in switching power supplies.
