Nov 25, 2003 Cable Cutters make cuts through underground and overhead electrical or structural cables, from ½ in. guy wires up to 2 in. 1000 KCMIL AL cable. They are also suited for 5/8 in. ACSR cable, ¾ in. bolts, and ground rods. Open-frame tools are powered by pyrotechnic cartridges which, upon trigger release, drive aerospace grade tool steel blades at high velocity through cable, guillotine-style. Bright red safety shield must be rotated before operating cutter.
