Epoxy Resin offers dimensional stability.

Epoxy Resin offers dimensional stability.

Master Bond, Inc.
Hackensack, NJ 07601
Apr 08, 2008 Suited for bonding, encapsulation, and coating, 2-component EP21LM-3 develops tensile modulus greater than 100,000 psi and tensile shear strength greater than 2,300 psi. Viscosity of 37,000 cps enables product to flow evenly and smoothly without application of pressure. When cured, polymer has Shore D hardness of 64 and resists thermal cycling as well as water, oil, fuels, and most organic solvents over temperature range of -65 to +250°F.

Polycarbonate Films offer protective coating for electronics.

SABIC Innovative Plastics
Pittsfield, MA 01201
Nov 27, 2007 Lexan DMX polycarbonate films include Lexan DMX 1HD00-112 film that is polished on both sides and Lexan DMX 1HDA3-112 film that is polished on one side and matte on other. Featuring layered construction that utilizes DMX resin, films offer pencil hardness rating of 1H as well as impact, chemical, saltwater, and isopropanol resistance. They can be fabricated with Insert Mold Decoration graphics and be thermoformed to greater than or equal to 35 mm draw depth.

Conductive Resins are optimized for powder coating.

GE Company GE Plastics
Pittsfield, MA 01201
Apr 10, 2007 Able to replace metal substrates in powder coating applications, environmentally responsible Noryl GTX(TM) resins contain conductive fillers that eliminate need to apply electrostatic primer. Grades make it possible to powder-coat metal and plastic on same production line, and can eliminate chemical cleaning and pretreatment of metallic parts when used as substrate. Products consist of polyamide blend with modified polyphenylene ether reinforced with conductive filler packages.

Master Bond, Inc.
Hackensack, NJ 07601
Feb 09, 2007 Suitable for use in both thick/thin sectioned configurations, EP21TDC-2LO bonding, sealing, coating, and encapsulation system has thermal conductivity of 9 BTU/in./ft²/hr/°F and volume resistivity of 1,012 Wcm. With service operating temperature range of 4 K to 250°F, room temperature curable product features Shore D hardness of 36, elongation of 50%, 1:3 mix ratio by weight or volume, working life of 90 min for 100 g mass, tensile strength of 1,070 psi, and T-peel strength of 15 pli.

Masking Material protects metal component surfaces.

Masking Material protects metal component surfaces.

Dymax Corp.
Torrington, CT 06790
Aug 29, 2006 Available in gel, brush-on, or spray-on formulations, SpeedMask® UV Curable Masking Resin provides surface protection from contamination caused by acids, alkalines, plating solutions, and ambient debris from air plasma spray, HVOF, grinding, peening, and grit blasting. Single-component, temporary masking resin is solvent-free, non-flammable, urethane-based, and water-soluble, and easily peels, dissolves in water, or burns off once the surface treatment process is completed.

Mereco Technologies Group Co.
West Warwick, RI 02893 2927
Apr 29, 2002 MNRC 04-1347 UV light curing resin is based on aliphatic urethane acrylate monomer blend. At 1 mil thickness, it cures in 10 to 15 seconds with UV light. Transparent liquid is suitable for clear bonds or encapsulation. It bonds to metal, ceramic, glass, and many plastics. MNRC 04-1347 is thixotropic at 25 deg C, and cures to 40-50 Shore A with elongation of 150%. Operating temperature range is -40 to 125 deg C.

Phenolic Resin Coating cures in one hour at 350°F.

Magnetic Component Engineering, Inc.
Torrance, CA 90505
Dec 21, 2001 PR1010 black phenolic resin resists chemicals and retards oxidation. It can be used as final coat on metal components, or as primer on metal prior to bonding. It promotes bond longevity by inhibiting oxidation at bond joints. Application process involves lightly grit-blasting surface with aluminum oxide, then spray coating. Process eliminates need for phosphoric acid etch. Coating thickness is typically applied 0.0005 in. ± .0002 in.
