UL-approved OPI120 and OPI123 Series, rated to 15 kV, have hermetically sealed IR LED packaged with phototransistor or photodarlington output. Designed to provide high-voltage isolation between input and output as well as electrical isolation in dirty environments, solutions feature LED with peak wavelength of 890 or 935 nm, forward dc current of 150 mW, and power dissipation rating of 200 mW. Depending on series, minimum collector-emitter voltage for output photosensor is 25 or 20 V.

Available for RS-232 and RS-422/485 data circuits, I-linx stand-alone optical isolators in industrial DIN rail mount cases offer 2,000 V protection. Converters change RS-232 format data signals to RS-422 for increased range, or RS-485 for increased range and multi-drop capability. Model FOSTCDRI converts RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 to transmit over fiber optic cable, which allows range up to 2.5 miles.

Providing electrical isolation and data transfer, Series OPI1270 consists of visible LED emitter and phototransistor detector housed in separate opaque molded plastic housings and coupled by shrouded optical cable for noise immunity. LED emits red light with peak wavelength of 645 nm, while phototransistor exhibits max collector current of 50 mA. Offered in standard lengths of 32, 40, and 80 mm, RoHS-compliant units feature operating temperature of -20 to +85°C.

Jun 01, 2005 Surface mountable on ceramic or printed circuit board, Series HCC240 and HCC242 consist of GaAlAs LED and silicon phototransistor in hermetically sealed, leadless chip carrier. When coupled, Series HCC240 exhibits on-state collector current of 6.0 mA typical, while Series HCC242 is 15.0 mA typical. With collector-emitter saturation voltage of 0.30 V max, both devices are compatible with soldering process and are rated for operation from –55 to +125şC. |

Sep 02, 2004 Faraday Optical Isolator allows propagation of linearly polarized light in one direction, but blocks light in reverse direction. It consists of Faraday rotator, 2 polarizers, and housing body. Rotator's magneto-optical rod is cut from glass with parallelism better than 10 arc-sec. Isolator is offered with reverse isolation of 38 dB or 60 dB and is factory aligned for central wavelength of 800 nm. Changing position of rod allows tuning over wavelength range from 765-835 nm. |
Optical Isolator offers AC/DC voltage isolation up to 16 kV.Optek Technology, Inc.
Carrollton, TX 75006-6905
Jun 17, 2004 Consisting of infrared LED and photologic sensor, Model OPI1268 is capable of DC and AC voltage isolation between input and output circuitry while providing TTL signal integrity. Maximum isolation voltage is 16 kV with propagation delays less than 200 ns. Isolator is packaged in opaque plastic housing with transmissive internal light pipe between LED and photologic sensor. High level output current is typically 0.25 µA with max of 15 µA. |
