Access Platform enables economical TDM/Ethernet services.

Larscom, Inc.
Milpitas, CA 95035
May 29, 2003 Plug-and-play Orion 7400 SONET access platform enables carriers to deliver flexible, incremental-level Ethernet-based bandwidth services as well as TDM services on mass-market basis. Product leverages Generic Framing Procedure (GFP)-based Ethernet over SONET (EoS) standards, including Low- (VT 1.5) and High- (STS-1) order Virtual Concatenation. Interoperable with existing SONET infrastructure, it includes up to 16 Fast Ethernet ports in single 1.75 in. high device.

Multiplexer/Demultiplexer incorporates 62.5 µm core fiber.

Dec 02, 2002 Multimode fiber-based DWDM mux/demux offers 8 channel, 200 GHz spacing. It features uniform channel-to-channel insertion loss and large bandwidth due to broad flat-top passband. Insertion loss is typically less than 1 dB and polarization dependent loss is less than 0.3 dB over -40 to +85°C without any active temperature control. Variation across all channels is less than 0.2 dB. Adjacent channel isolation is typically greater than 30 dB.

Audio Multiplexer sends and receives signals up to 37 miles.

Jun 19, 2002 Series AT/AR7400 20-bit, four-channel, digital multiplexer allows two stereo or four monaural audio signals to be digitally encoded and transmitted on one optical fiber. Quality of signal is maintained under all optical conditions through maximum optical path loss of 20 dB. Medium-haul performance has 80 dB signal to noise ratio and operating temperature range of -40 to +74°C.

Jun 10, 2002 Standard 16-channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer maintains 3 dB insertion loss over operating temperature of 0 to 60 deg C. Passive athermal performance avoids need for several watts of power to drive heaters or other temperature control devices, and for system monitoring and alarms to signal malfunction of temperature control devices.

Multiplexer transmits 2 channels on single fiber.

May 17, 2002 Bi-directional Wavelength Division Multiplexer (BWDM) uses 2 separate wavelengths to carry 2 distinct channels up to 20 km distance. Either 1310 or 1550 nm wavelength is used to transmit, while other wavelength is used to receive, eliminating need to install second fiber and doubling capacity of existing cable. It is suitable for MAN and LAN applications.
