Reactive force is induced in paddle in proportion to rate of flow in pipe, and reaction generates proportional resistance in control spring. Variable force balance is maintained between flow and control spring until flow exceeds set flow rate. When flow reaches set point, reaction plate activates micro-switch to make or break contacts. |
