SmartSert, installed in plastic or aluminum-based materials without pre-tapped hole, does not cut base material when installed. Instead, material flows around insert to eliminate cracking and other damage. Use of this product enables bolts to be tightened to higher torques without stripping and prevents bolt dislodging by vibration. Potential applications include scooter engines, aerospace materials, computer cases, printers, mobile phones, and electrical plugs.
