With power saving mode, current levels can be reduced to 0.1 µA per channel, resulting in 1 µW of total power for entire isolator.

Device encodes and expands SDA and SCL signals into 4 unidirectional channels, ready to be transmitted over isolation barrier, and then decodes and recombines them using second LTC4310. With isolator, 4 digital transmit and receive signals can be bridged by Ethernet transformer to achieve communication across voltage differences of 1,500 Vrms.
