Multi-Chip Solution performs for USB-to-RS232 interfacing.

Future Technology Devices International Ltd.    Hillsboro, OR 97124-6499
Jul 18, 2013 USB-DUO bundles USB bridge controller ICs with RS232 transceiver IC, providing platform for creating USB-to-RS232 converter cabling systems supporting speeds up to 250 Kbps. While FT231XS provides USB-to-UART conversion operation, FT3243S transceiver provides digital-to-RS232 conversion – translating 3.3 V level UART signal from FT231XS to RS232 voltage levels. Product operates from -40 to +85°C and draws 9 mA when active or 135 µA when FT231XS X-Chip element is in suspend mode.

Apr 03, 2012 As USB-to-RS232 level full-handshake UART cable with male DB9 connector, 10 cm long Chipi-X supports USB 2.0 Full Speed operation with data transfer rates from 300 bps to 250 kbps at RS232 voltage levels. Both 512 byte receive and 512 byte transmit buffers utilize buffer smoothing technology, enabling sustained data throughput. FTDI FT231XS USB-to-UART interface IC handles USB protocol, and FT3243S transceiver IC deals with RS232 level voltage conversion. ESD protection is standard.

Apr 06, 2009 CE-USB USB2.0-to-RS232 adapter uses DB9 pcb pad pinout to allow updates to older serial products without any layout changes, and adds USB interface into existing serial products with no software or hardware redesign required. Device draws 35 mA from USB port, and drivers allow it to appear to operating system as additional COM port. It sends 8-bit asynchronous serial data at selectable speeds between 300-921.6 Kbps. All RS-232 signals, including handshakes, are available.

Dec 09, 2003 Model FT2232C dual-port USB-to-serial/parallel I/O IC is based on USB UART/FIFO FT232BM (USB-serial) and FT245BM (USB-parallel). Each of the dual ports configure independently in several different modes. Full modem hardware and software handshaking is offered in serial mode, with Automatic Transmit Enable control for RS485 applications. FTDI protocol allows galvanically isolated designs to communicate synchronously with FT2232C, using 2 dual optoisolators.
