(Showing headlines 1 - 12)

Copolymer Polypropylene features high melt flow rate of 110.

The Borealis Group    Port Murray, NJ 07865
Mar 16, 2012 Offering optimal balance of stiffness, flow, and impact performance, RJ901MO allows stable stacking of finished articles as well as production of complex shapes or long, narrow lengths. Product features transparency and gloss, plus non-yellowing effect, making it suited for thin wall packaging and houseware applications, such as storage boxes and CD/DVD cases.

Mineral-Filled Polypropylene can replace semi-rigid PVC.

Teknor Apex Co.    Pawtucket, RI 02861
May 31, 2011 Modified so that they are essentially semi-rigid materials, Synres® 1000 Series mineral-filled polypropylene (PP) compounds exhibit thermal stability and resistance to environmental stress cracking. Characteristics include 35-65 Shore D Hardness, respective tensile strength yield and break ranges of 2,700-3,500 and 1,900-2,600 psi, and -76.0 to -32.0°F brittleness temperature. Compounds can be supplied in natural or pre-colored form in formulations tailored to customer requirements.

TPS and PP Blends help processors meet sustainability goals.

TPS and PP Blends help processors meet sustainability goals.

Teknor Apex Co.    Pawtucket, RI 02861
Dec 14, 2010 Available in compounds and masterbatches, Thermoplastic Starch and Polypropylene Blends provide physical properties comparable to virgin PP. Terraloy® BP-13020 ready-to-process compounds are blends of 25-30% TPS and 70-75% PP, of which 70-75% is recyclate. Terraloy® MB-13020 masterbatches have 35-50% TPS content and up to 50% recyclate. Both are suited for injection molded consumer products; extruded sheet, profiles, and tubing; and blow molded jars and bottles.

Synthetic Mineral Fibers lighten weight of PP auto parts.

Milliken & Co.    Spartanburg, SC 29304
Nov 23, 2010 Hyperform® HPR reinforcing additives, available as free-flowing powder, provide processors with option for making high-performance polypropylene (PP) parts with lower weight. Intended primarily for automotive sector, Hyperform® HPR-803 fibers have aspect ratio of ~40:1 and natural color that reduces pigmentation requirements/usage. Recycled material exhibits minimal loss of mechanical properties, and wear on equipment is minimal at all stages of processing.

Polypropylene Resin offers creep resistance at room temperature.

Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc.    Fowlerville, MI 48836
Aug 13, 2010 Offering alternative to Long Glass Filled PP, Thermylene® P8 is formulated for optimized interfacial adhesion between matrix and reinforcement and to balance impact and strength. Available in varying glass levels and wide range of colors, Thermylene P8 is suitable for automotive, electronics, furniture, bath and spa, building and construction, and any other plastic applications traditionally requiring long fiber performance.

Bio-Based Composites contribute to sustainable products.

SABIC Innovative Plastics    Pittsfield, MA 01201
Aug 05, 2009 LNP(TM) Thermocomp(TM) specialty compounds are bio-based materials that use curau fiber and wood flour natural reinforcements. Comprised of polyamide-6 nylon reinforced with up to 20% curau fiber, LNP Thermocomp PX07444 can potentially be substituted for glass-filled nylon in specific applications. LNP Thermocomp MX07442 is polypropylene (PP) reinforced with 30% wood flour. Aimed at replacing wood, it is resistant to fungus and exhibits dimensional stability.

Polypropylene LGF Resins target global automotive industry.

SABIC Innovative Plastics    Pittsfield, MA 01201
Sep 26, 2008 SABIC® STAMAX polypropylene long-glass-fiber resins are formulated to replace steel in components such as front-end and door modules and offer lightweight solutions for fuel efficiency and emissions reduction. Resins offer design flexibility for part consolidation as well as performance properties including high stiffness, dimensional stability, high flow, and good crash behavior. Flow characteristics allow for thinner wall instrument panel carriers compared to traditional materials.

Polypropylene Copolymer has melt flow rate of 70 g/10 min.

Basell Polyolefins    Wilmington, DE 19808
Aug 30, 2007 Targeting processors of clear, thin-wall, injection-molded (TWIM) food applications, Clyrell EM248U can also be used in in-mold labeling (IML) and off-set printing. Metallocene-based Metocene polypropylene (PP) copolymer is reactor-grade product which does not require vis-breaking or peroxides, and features low organoleptic properties. Clyrell EM248U's high heat deflection temperature also enables it to retain stiffness in hot-fill applications.

Plastic Materials are designed for automotive industry.

Borouge Pte Ltd    Abu Dhabi   United Arab Emerites
Dec 11, 2006 Daplen(TM) ED230HP thermoplastic polyolefin features good stiffness/impact ratio and low thermal expansion for moulding parts that require low change of dimensions over broad temperature range. Suited for upper, middle, and lower part of dashboard carriers, Nepol GB215HP polypropylene compound provides high stiffness and dimensional stability, energy absorption, low emission, and long-term heat stabilization.

Polypropylene Compound offers ESD protection.

NPI    Brampton L6T 4M2  Canada
Oct 29, 2004 Nexstat-10C896 static dissipative polypropylene compound can be molded with consistent resistivity in range of 106-109 ohms/sq. It protects static sensitive components from damage caused by field induced voltages. Recyclable compound has low ionic contamination, low out gassing, and minimal sloughing. Product suits manufacture of static protective storage bins, tote boxes, guide rails, containers, racks, and shelving.

Compound suits thin-wall injection molding.

RTP Co.    Winona, MN 55987
Oct 26, 2004 High-flow conductive polypropylene compound is easy-to-mold, conductive material that achieves typical melt flows of 20 g/10 min and 2160 g at 230°C. Material minimizes warpage and retains physical properties with notched IZOD impact strength of 2.5 ft-lb/in. and no-break unnotched IZOD impact strength. Surface resistivity is 104 ohms/sq, with volume resistivity less than 25 ohm-cm. Applications include complex medical, electronic, and biotechnological devices.
