Solving the Sequenced Part Delivery (SPD) Problem with RFID Technology

This white paper emphasizes the importance of RFID technology in solving absolute synchronization problem of Sequenced Part Delivery (SPD), and role of absolute synchronization in the delivery of outsourced part to the automotive assembly line. It examines the applicability of RFID technology to automotive parts outsourcing based on data from Intier Seating's assembly line where Escort Memory Systems (EMS)' RFID tags were used to synchronize SPD of car seats for Ford's new Edge models.
