To seal actuator, upper and lower casings and diaphragm are heli-arc welded around circumference to create solid bond, eliminating need for gasket. All sealing surfaces are metal to metal. Sealed, short stroke actuator reacts to smaller temperature changes and needs less time to travel to compensate for temperature variations.
