Electric Arc Furnace supports direct reduced iron melting.

Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc.
Alpharetta, GA 30005
Jan 24, 2012 With electrical energy input and direct reduced iron supplied during tapping, Simetal EAF FAST DRI supports continuous melting process. Continuous supply of electrical energy during flat-bath operation avoids line harmonic distortions such as flicker, while Furnace Advanced Slag-free Tapping system enables charging, tapping, and taphole refilling under power-on conditions. Designed in combination with Siemens' Hot Transport System, furnace can be fed with hot DRI at temperatures of 600°C.

Waste-Steam Recovery System is designed for retorts.

Allpax Products, Inc.
Covington, LA 70433
Jan 18, 2012 Allpax waste-steam recovery system reduces energy expenditure and water consumption to address overall facility sustainability. In new installations or as retrofit, system captures come-up vent-open waste steam in vented tank where steam condensates into hot (200°F) water that can be used to supplement hot water demands or run through heat exchangers for other plant processes. Vented collection tank is pressure neutral, and heat recovery system with pressure sensors is PLC controlled.
