NASA Tests New Biofuel: KFC Anyone?
In the spring, NASA tested the Hydrotreated Renewable Jet Fuel on a DC-8 to measure performance and emissions as part of the Alternative Aviation Fuel Experiment II (AAREX II). This biofuel is made from chicken fat and anyone who has ever barbecued chicken for dinner knows that chicken fat loves to burn. But, can it be a useable alternative to petroleum fuels?
