Green Toys: A Growing Slice Of An $84 Billion Pie
What’s the significance for worldwide manufacturing when sections of a market worth $84 billion globally decide to “go green”? We’re about to find out. The market in question is the toy market, and the latest, hottest and brightest were on display, alongside the humble and traditional, at this week’s Nuremberg Toy Fair, held February 3 to 8. The fair is one of the biggest trade events in the world; certainly the biggest for the toy industry. Last year, the event was held in New York and attracted about 76,000 visitors from 104 countries. DOE Offers Conditional Loan Commitment for New Biofuels Plant
Diamond Green Diesel, LLC, a joint venture between Valero Energy Corporation and Darling International Inc., is preparing to build a 137-million per year renewable diesel facility in Norco, LA and the U.S. government has taken the first step toward a loan commitment. The $241 million loan guarantee is part of the Department of Energy’s comprehensive strategy to support the production of advanced biofuels. Read the rest of this entry »
