Energy Servers Power Up the Grid
Like a computer server that manages data and information, an energy server will manage power and electrons. Electrons? An energy server is a power generator that produces electricity at a customer’s site. The system designed by Bloom Energy® (Bloom’s Energy Server™) consists of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) that function as a battery in storing energy but do not use any corrosive materials to produce energy. That is where the electrons come in. An SOFC is a high temperature fuel cell that creates a chemical reaction to produce energy. (Click here to see how a SOFC works.) Read the rest of this entry »
