Original Press Release:

NCS Technologies Announces Cirrus LT, the Industry's First PCoIP Zero Client Laptop Computer, is Generally Available

GAINESVILLE, Va. -- NCS Technologies, Inc. (www.ncst.com), a leading domestic computing systems manufacturer, today announced general availability of the Cirrus LT zero client laptop, a compact notebook that is highly secure and delivers all the functionality of a traditional PC. The laptop comes with a 14-inch screen, docking station, battery, integrated smart card reader and optional Wi-Fi capability. Cirrus LT delivers key innovations including patented mobility technology, ease of use and management.

Cirrus LT uses Teradici PCoIP(®) technology. This protocol compresses, encrypts and encodes the entire computing experience at the data center and transmits only pixels across the IP network. Users have secure, fully functional, and effortless access to all applications. Cirrus LT takes advantage of the strongest security protocols, AES-256 cryptography and NSA Suite B ciphers, when used in conjunction with a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card. The laptop doesn't retain any user data because it doesn't have local storage, hard drive or an operating system. That means secrets won't be compromised if the device is lost, broken into or stolen.

Engineered for low cost of ownership, Cirrus LT works in VMware Horizon View and Amazon WorkSpaces environments - delivering a highly efficient IT administrative experience. The laptop supports copper, fiber and optional Wi-Fi. Cirrus LT can be implemented as a part of an NCS VDI Stack, a purpose-built converged storage and computer hardware appliance solution that delivers simplicity, scalability and cost efficiencies to virtual desktop deployments.

Cirrus LT is distributed by Ingram Micro and Carahsoft Technology Corp. in North America, with distribution being developed for EU markets. Cirrus LT was developed for vertical markets, including government, education, finance, healthcare and manufacturing - any vertical that needs security, mobility and efficiency.
