New XY Stage with Linear Motor Drive

BURLINGTON, MA – Steinmeyer, Inc. today announced another addition to its extensive family of linear positioning stages. The new KT230-EDLM is driven by a powerful ironless core linear motor and includes an electromagnetic brake as a safety feature in the event of power loss. The stage body is manufactured from a low distortion aluminum alloy (black anodized) and includes high stiffness, backlash free, stainless steel cross roller linear bearings. The KT230-EDLM offers the following performance:

• Travel is 110 X 110 MM

• Positional accuracy of  +/- 3 microns

• Repeatability of 0.05 microns

• Maximum load of 150 Newton

The new KT230-EDLM is driven by a 3 phase linear motor and incorporates an integrated temperature sensor as well as Hall effect limit switches (NO / 5 ... 24V). Options available for this stage are customized travel lengths and cable duct, higher accuracy of +/- 0.3 micron (via error mapping) and normally closed limit switches for wire break detection circuit.

This stage is ideal for applications such as:

• Robotics

• Laser Machining

• Medical

• Semiconductor

• Scientific
