Worcester, MA …SLIDEWAYS announces a new line of metal and X-Ray detectable components for conveyor and food processing equipment to help eliminate contamination and costly food recalls. Complaint with the Food Safety Modernization Act, material properties available with detectable capabilities include Acetal, UHMW, Nylon and PEEK in a range of components: wear strips, sprockets, chain guides and tracks, guides, mixer components, bushing and bearings and more. “The increasing speed of production, constant handling, repeated equipment cleanings and other requirements, creates greater wear and tear increasing the risk of fragments breaking off and contaminating the final product. The composition of the plastic is FDA compliant and detection levels exceed FDA requirements. Detection of parts as small as 2mm cube at speeds as fast as 250’ per minute is standard.
