Worm-Drive Clamps reduce friction with smooth band.

Press Release Summary:

TORRO® hose clamps eliminate sharp edges and welds and are available with built-in spring, which improves clamping force and destruction torque while compensating for compression set. Band widths include 9 mm in aluminum-zinc and 12 mm in stainless steel. Aluminum-zinc offers corrosion resistance and withstands exposure to salt spray for 144 hours without red rust. Combination head screw can be tightened with hex or slotted tool.

Economical New Worm-Drive Clamps Reduce Friction

WIXOM, MICH. FEB. 10, 2003. NORMA Products (U.S.), Inc. has introduced a new generation of its TORRO® worm-drive clamps that reduces friction during installation and increases clamping force, because the band is smooth where it grips the hose. These new clamps broaden a product line which already accounts for production of two million clamps a day.

Like previous TORRO® clamps, the new design eliminates sharp edges and welds, and can be ordered with the patented NORMA® built-in spring. This feature improves clamping force and destruction torque while compensating for compression set. Two band widths are available: 12mm in stainless steel and 9mm in aluminum-zinc. The aluminum zinc maximizes cost-effectiveness by delivering high performance with excellent corrosion resistance. It withstands exposure to salt spray for 144 hours without any red rust.

The clamps have a combination head screw that can be easily tightened with a hex or slotted tool. The screw of the 9mm clamp also accepts a Phillips head tool.

NORMA Products (U.S.), Inc. is a leading manufacturer of clamps and connecting systems for automotive, heavy truck and industrial applications. The company, supported by a growing network of stocking distributors, is the North American subsidiary of Rasmussen GmbH of Germany.
