Original Press Release:

Panatrack Launches Enhanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) Features for Microsoft Dynamics GP

ATLANTA, -- Panatrack announced today, at the Microsoft Convergence event in Atlanta, the release of Version 7 of PanatrackerGP for Microsoft Dynamics GP.

The new version strengthens Panatrack's position as a leader in the WMS (Warehouse Management System) space for Microsoft Dynamics GP users.

A significant focus of Version 7 is enhanced order fulfillment. For situations where a single-step pick and pack fulfillment process isn't practical, PanatrackerGP has introduced a two-step fulfillment workflow. Distributors can now pick items to a movable bin or staging area, then later confirm accuracy and pack to a shipping container. Additionally, warehouse zones and picking routes can now be defined in the warehouse so the picking team can operate more efficiently by avoiding wasted movement.

"These are features that many people thought were only available in an expensive stand-alone WMS," Panatrack Senior Product Specialist Karl Jensen said. "But, the overhead of a separate WMS often means problematic data synchronization and audit issues. We've leveraged GP's features and created an embedded WMS at a great value."

Version 7 also enhances license plate features, allowing for the grouping of inventory under a single serialized barcode. This simplifies pallet-level movement and fulfillment.

Inventory-based companies will also benefit from new case and multi-pack SKUs with their own units of measure. Instead of adding separate items to Microsoft Dynamics GP, you can now associate a unit-of-measure to the Manufacturer Item Cross Reference. Scanning that barcode translates it to the GP item and sets the appropriate unit-of-measure, saving time decreasing warehouse errors."

Version 7 also expands PanatrackerGP's popular Directed Transfer feature. Commonly used for site-transfer requisitions and internal-orders, this feature greatly helps in inventory replenishment to stores or satellite warehouses. The PanatrackerGP web portal allows for the entry of these transfer directives and gives the warehouse team an on-screen pick-list on the scanner for easier fulfillment.

For medical device manufacturers and distributors, PanatrackerGP enhanced its support for the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Unique Device Identification (UDI) regulations. The UDI is an alphanumeric code consisting of device information, as well as the specific details of production data. This UDI data is typically represented by concatenating several pieces of data into a single barcode.

"We have enhanced our barcode parsing engine in order to capture item, lot or serial data, and more with a single scan," Panatrack Sales Engineer Alex Rode said.

PanatrackerGP Version 7 also sports a new look with enhanced reporting options. Additionally, scanner users now can define personal favorites that allows quick access to commonly-used transactions.

Version 7 supports Dynamics GP-2015, as well as GP-10, GP-2010, and GP-2013.

"Version 7 is a significant step forward for this product," said Pam Burnham, who directs product strategy for PanatrackerGP. "We've really turned Microsoft Dynamics GP into a WMS now."
