Wireless Broadband Platform operates in 2.4 GHz frequency band.

Press Release Summary:

Providing up to 200 Mbps connectivity, ePMP 1000 GPS Sync Radio is available in frequencies of 2,402–2,472 MHz and 5,150-5,350 MHz, 5,470-5,970 MHz. Device supports up to 120 remote stations, with range of 13 miles. It can operate in non-GPS Sync mode to support low-density networks with one sector, and GPS Sync mode to support network growth into multiple sectors. Security is enabled by 128-bit AES encryption and L2 and L3 firewall settings.

Original Press Release:

Cambium Networks' ePMP Wireless Broadband Platform Now Available In 2.4 GHz

ePMP is deployed in over 50 countries to date

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. – Cambium Networks™, a global leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, today announced the availability of its ePMP™ platform in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. The availability of the 2.4 GHz band, in addition to the 5 GHz band, gives networks operators more options to reliably deploy ePMP in their network environments.

Introduced in October 2013, Cambium Networks has continued to increase its ePMP offering with regular product and software releases to address market needs and deliver incremental features to support the ever-growing demand for wireless broadband.  Key features of the ePMP platform:

•Â  Frequency availability:

-  2402 - 2472 MHz

-  5150 - 5350 MHz, 5470 - 5970MHz

•Â  AP capacity: up to 200 Mbps

•Â  Remote stations per AP:  up to 120 remote stations

•Â  GPS synchronization for scalability

•Â  Prioritization for Quality of Service (QoS) - three levels of support for VoIP, high-speed data and video applications.

•Â  Security:  128-bit AES encryption and L2 and L3 firewall settings

•Â  Range: 13 miles or 21 kilometers

The ePMP platform is designed to operate in both GPS Sync and non-GPS Sync modes.  This option gives network operators the flexibility to implement the ePMP non-Sync version in low user density networks with one sector.  As the network grows and the need for multiple sectors develops, the ePMP 1000 GPS Sync Radio may be utilized to enable GPS synchronization of the network, which would then be able to support frequency re-use, higher spectral efficiency and denser subscriber deployments in a cost-effective fashion.

"In our committed efforts to connect the under or unconnected we continue to grow our affordable and reliable ePMP solution," said Scott Imhoff, VP of product management, Cambium Networks.  "With the addition of 2.4 GHz radios, we are now able to provide additional deployment options for our network operator customers."

The ePMP 1000 2.4 GHz module is now available globally through Cambium Networks' distributors.
