Wire Grid Polarizers perform from 250 nm to more than 3.5 µm.

Press Release Summary:

Offering solution for most multi-wavelength applications, Ultra Broadband Wire Grid Polarizers consist of thin layer of aluminum MicroWires(TM) sandwiched between 2 fused silica glass windows. Wires are attached to first window and then thin cover glass is used to protect wires from damage. When incident light strikes wire grid, P-Polarized light contacts dielectric and is transmitted, while S-Polarized light contacts mirror and is reflected.

Ultra Broadband Wire Grid Polarizers

o Reflects S-Polarized Light, Transmits P-Polarized Light

o Excellent performance from 250nm to >3.5µm

o Ideal for High Temperature Environments

The Ultra Broadband Wire Grid Polarizers consist of a thin layer of aluminum MicroWires(TM) sandwiched between two fused silica glass windows. The wires are attached to the first window and then a thin cover glass is used to protect the aluminum wires from damage. These Ultra Broadband Wire Grid Polarizers are designed to be the best solution for most multi-wavelength applications. Their performance begins at 250nm and works well throughout the visible and infrared specta. These wire grid polarizers offer a higher transmission level and higher maximum operating temperature compared to our glass and film linear polarizers. The light is polarized by the birefringent nature of the wire grid surface. When incident light strikes the wire grid, P-Polarized light contacts a dielectric and is transmitted while S-Polarized light contacts a mirror and is reflected. Input beams should be oriented towards the cover glass side (indicated with a reference mark). When the reference mark is located in the upper left side of the polarizer, the transmission axis will be oriented from left to right.
