Wire EDM Machine features cylindrical drive technology.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring round magnetic shaft that creates non-contact design using full 360° of magnetic flux, MV Series eliminates wear, cogging, and backlash. With 1-piece T-shaped base casting, X and Y axis ways and drives are directly mounted, providing rigid and thermally stable platform, driving table and column independently. Additional features include servo control system using fiber-optic drive, auto-threading, and deep submerged-wire threading capabilities.

Original Press Release:

Mitsubishi EDM to Debut New Wire EDM at Mfg4 Booth #1527

Wood Dale, IL - MC Machinery Systems, Inc. will debut its newest wire EDM technology, the MV Series, at Mfg4 booth #1527. The new line features design and engineering improvements to exceed all other wire EDM machines on the market, including: non-contact cylindrical drive technology, an improved power supply, auto-threading, deeper submerged-wire threading capabilities, and more.

The MV Series' revolutionary new cylindrical drive technology offers a simple yet intelligent design concept using a linear shaft motor. Other EDMs built on a linear system are a flat-plate design, which limits the effective magnetic flux to only half of its potential. Mitsubishi's round magnetic shaft creates a non-contact design using the full 360 degrees of magnetic flux. This design delivers no wear, no cogging (inherent in flat plate systems), and no backlash - all for better energy-efficiency, accuracy, and speed.

The MV Series is built on the latest technology in machine construction; with a one-piece T-shaped base casting, the X and Y axis ways and drives are directly mounted, providing a highly rigid and thermally stable platform, driving the table and column independently. A new servo control system uses a fiber-optic drive system with four times the communication speed for improved reaction time and accuracy. Other features include a new head for easier indexing and significant time savings; and several design improvements to reduce overall operation costs.

Also on display, the new MC Milling line. The DM Series features a 20,000 RPM HSK-A63 spindle, which features a more rigid and accurate tooling system. This series excels in close-tolerance work and is ideal for applications in mold and die. The 32-position automatic tool changer provides better tool life management and boosts machine productivity. An M720 Mitsubishi controller, linear scales, and roller guideways are standard features of the DM Series.

The 4-axis Mitsubishi Waterjet DX44 will be showcased; its Intelligent Tapering Control, corrects the natural tapering of the cut automatically allowing for the optimum cutting speed in a contour with accurate wall straightness. The Advanced M720 Series Control comes with a 15" waterproof flat LCD touch screen monitor, and an easy-to-use menu list with help functions to guide the operator through both programming and setup.

The Consumable Products Group (CPG) will showcase its extensive line of OEM quality consumables. CPG products maximize efficiencies and increase EDM machine's longevity. The product line includes filters, brass wire, zinc-coated wire, diffusion-annealed wire, power-feed contacts and power-feed conversion kits.

Mitsubishi's superior products are backed by industry-leading service and support.
