Original Press Release:

New RIDGID(R) Wet/Dry Vacuums, Highest Powered In The Industry

Elyria, OH - March 2002 - New RIDGID(R) wet/dry vacuums are the highest performing vacs in the industry offering 2 to 6.5 peak horsepower in 6 to 16 gallon capacities. The units combine powerful and durable proprietary motors with a patented blower wheel design for maximum power in either vacuum or blower modes.

The units are equipped with a specially designed pleated filter element that has much larger surface area than standard filters. The filters allow longer on-the-job performance with more operating time between cleanings and replacement. A high-efficiency, two-stage filter designed to pick up ultra-small particles is also available.

All RIDGID wet/dry vacuums convert to a powerful blower with a minimum 150 mph blowing velocity. The vacuums feature rugged polypropylene drums that are impact and corrosion resistant. The drums have a smooth interior for easy emptying and cleaning, and an integral drain plug to empty liquids. An automatic suction shut-off senses and prevents liquid overflow; a lower drainage spout permits all liquid contents to easily be emptied.

The wet/dry vacuums have a low profile to prevent the risk of the vacuum tipping over. Quiet operation is ensured by reduced dB levels. A wide variety of accessories are available including extension wands, hose grips, and wet, dry and utility nozzles.
