VCO: ZRO1000A-LF Features Superior Phase Noise for a 1GHz Clock Source

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model ZRO1000A-LF. The ZRO1000A-LF operates at 1000 MHz within a tuning voltage range of 1.5 to 3.5 Vdc. This high performance VCO features a remarkably clean spectral signal of -129 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 2 MHz/V.

The ZRO1000A-LF is designed to deliver +7 dBm of output power into a 50Ω load while operating off a 8 Vdc supply and drawing typically 25 mA of current. This unmatched VCO operates over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to 85°C. The ZRO1000A-LF features typical second harmonic suppression of -18 dBc and comes in Z-Comm's standard ZMX-14-SM package measuring 0.75 in. x 0.75 in. x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

The ZRO1000A-LF is well suited for test instrumentation applications that require an extremely low phase noise clock source.
