Army Tested, Intelligently Built: New Explosion Proof Borescope Videoscope-XT

The new Videoscope-XT is intended to meet the growing demand for an explosion proof borescope on the market. This sought after quality is particularly critical for such applications as police, military and security examinations, fuel container checkups, or engine inspections, among others. The Videoscope-XT has been tested under the MIL-STD-810G method 511 in an explosive environment, and meets the requirements of the NFPA 70 – Class 1 Division 2.

The new explosion proof video borescope features waterproof and oil-resistant probes with 4-way articulation in each direction, with lengths varying from 1.5m (4.9') to 7.5m (24.6') with 4mm (0.16'') or 6mm (0.24'') diameters. The borescope articulates at 120 degrees in each direction, while the probe rotates 360 degrees to ensure user friendly performance. Articulation is controlled via two knobs located right on the handle allowing the user to operate the unit with just one hand.

The Videoscope-XT possesses an advanced high-resolution color CMOS camera, x3.5 digital zoom, and a 3-stage adjustable super bright LED illumination built into the handle for added safety and direct text input. A 32GB SDHC card is capable of holding up to 32,000 photos and close to 500 hours of video. Photo and video files are saved and stored in .bmp and .avi formats respectively.

The ergonomic and lightweight unit (just under 3 lbs. or 1.35 kilos) comes in a hard plastic carrying case protecting the valuable tool from physical damage. The Videoscope-XT has two power supply alternatives – a rechargeable Li-ion battery (good for up to 6 hours when fully charged) and a 12V power supply. Unparalleled durability, reliability and versatility of this explosion proof video borescope make it a preferred choice for all visual inspection applications where precision and safety are the primary concerns.
