Newport Introduces Integrity(TM) VCS Vibration Control System

Irvine, CA - Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in lasers and photonics solutions that Make, Manage and Measure Light®, introduces the Integrity VCS Series vibration control system designed specifically to provide an economical and stable platform for basic photonic research and development at universities, government, or corporate labs. All Integrity VCS systems include a steel honeycomb damped optical platform and a mating support frame that is available with or without active leveling pneumatic isolators.

Integrity VCS systems are available with traditional 8-in. or 12-in. thick optical platforms and a new 6-in. thick platform which is ideal for less demanding applications. All platforms feature a full array of tapped holes, ¼-20 or M6, that extend to ½ in. from the edges and include Newport's patented sealed-hole design to prevent core contamination and make clean-up and small part retrieval easy.

Integrity VCS optical platforms incorporate the same reinforced truss, vertically-bonded core design as Newport's higher performance optical platforms such as the SmartTable® and RS Series. This provides maximum rigidity and reduces relative platform motion due to dynamic, static, and thermal forces. This superior design provides the same rigidity-to-weight and inherent broadband damping often found in higher-cost competitive models. Integrity VCS is available in three levels of platform performance depending on damping performance and budgetary requirements.

The Integrity VCS frame system features a pair of welded tubular steel uprights with integrated leveling feet and three reinforced safety tie bars to provide a sturdy, yet open-front frame structure, perfect for lab space utilization and storage. This is a superior design to other systems that use only one formed sheet metal cross member that is bolted to each upright. Optional casters can be field-installed, making the entire system easily transportable.

According to Warren Booth, Vibration Control Product Line Manager, "In addition to superior vibration isolation and damping performance, what also makes the Integrity VCS unique are the integrated accessories that attach directly to the frame, creating an economical, functional, and mobile vibration control platform.

The optional overhead shelf features a laminated top surface and steel edge supports which reinforce the shelf and provide a small lip to help prevent instruments from accidently falling onto the platform. All of these great features and accessories, combined with a very competitive price, make Integrity VCS the ideal optical platform for teaching labs and basic photonic research."
