Pflow Industries Presents Backroom Vertical Lifting Solutions

Pflow Industries, Inc., one of the world's leading providers of vertical lifting solutions, has the engineering capabilities, experience and technical know-how to solve a variety of vertical lifting issues. The firm specializes in the engineering and production of custom vertical reciprocating conveyors (VRC) and designs vertical lifts to move materials weighing up to 200,000 pounds.

"Pflow concentrates on the fact that each application is unique. We leverage technology by utilizing the latest in engineering software, including Solid Works and Algor Finite Element Analysis. Pflow offers free on-site surveys and provides a detailed analysis to determine what equipment would work best based on customer needs. The firm has a long-term commitment to safety; our VRC testing is intense, more so than any other VRC manufacturer," said David Dux, Pflow vice president of sales.

Pflow custom VRCs offer access to and from mezzanines, balconies, basements and in-between levels in multiple story buildings. Examples of Pflow lift applications include: moving pallets from loading docks to stockrooms, items from layaway storage to the pick up counter, and palletized or boxed loads from the stockroom to the sales floor.

"Retailers are maximizing their stock area by installing mezzanines with Pflow equipment," commented Dux. "Pflow lift systems enable retailers to take advantage of multi-level stockroom designs and allow operators to move loads in a unitized fashion instead of breaking pallets down into individual boxes. The firm also offers solutions for vertical movement and storage of shopping carts. Some systems have been designed to automatically return lines of empty shopping carts from elevated parking levels to the store level."

Pflow VRC lift systems can be utilized in exterior applications and in through-floor, interior applications. Additionally, Pflow lifts are used in conveyorized applications, high-speed production lines and in place of inclined belt conveyors.

VRCs offer a fast, efficient, convenient and safe lifting option. VRCs are not elevators and fall under the ANSI/ASME B20.1 national code for conveyors and related equipment. The principal components of a VRC include: guide columns, carriage and a mechanical or hydraulic drive.
