World's First Sanitizer with UVC LED Technology Could Reduce the Spread of Super Bugs in Hospitals

Healthcare technology company, Seal Shield LLC, announces ElectroClave(TM) UV Sanitizer at HiMSS tradeshow booth 5227

CHICAGO, -- HiMSS healthcare show -- Seal Shield LLC (Jacksonville, FL), today will introduce and demonstrate the new ElectroClave(TM) UV Sanitizer at the HiMSS healthcare show booth 5227.  The ElectroClave(TM) is the world's first UV Sanitizer to use low-power UVC LED technology, allowing healthcare practitioners to sanitize hard to clean devices such as tablet computers and smart phones, while charging and syncing these enterprise devices in a secure environment.

Tablet computers and smart phones have been proven to harbor harmful bacteria and viruses.  A study published in the Journal of Applied Microbiology warns that "some twenty to thirty percent of viruses can be readily transferred from a fingertip to a glass surface, like that on a touch screen."  Today, hospitals use autoclaves to sterilize a wide variety of instruments.  Unfortunately, numerous devices such as tablets, smart phones and other electronics can not withstand the high heat of these sterilization systems.

The Seal Shield ElectroClave(TM), Patent Pending, is the world's first healthcare sanitizer to use new, high efficacy UVC LED technology which has the advantages of low power and low heat.  Seal Shield's proprietary Smart Clean(TM) Technology allows for fail safe sanitization, adjusting UV exposure to bulb life and environmental conditions. These features allow electronic devices to be charged and synced while they sanitize.

The Seal Shield ElectroClave(TM) combines HEPA filtration and positive pressure with high efficacy UVC LED technology to provide the most efficient means of combating cross contamination bacteria, viruses and fungi on hard to clean devices.  Each ElectroClave(TM) can charge, sync and sanitize up to eight devices simultaneously, and multiple ElectroClaves can be daisy-chained together to support an unlimited number of devices.  The ElectroClave(TM) is device independent meaning it is compatible with all major brands of tablets and smart phones.  Featuring Bluetooth® wireless technology for remote monitoring, the ElectroClave(TM) can be used as a portable sterilizer on a wheeled cart, placed on a table, or wall mounted for easy facility integration.

"We believe the ElectroClave(TM) is disruptive technology and will greatly improve the ease and efficiency in which personal computing devices are managed in hospitals, from both the IT and Infection Control perspectives," states Seal Shield CEO, Brad Whitchurch.

The Seal Shield ElectroClave(TM) UV Sanitizer is scheduled for production at the end of the year at a price of $3,999 US MSRP.  Seal Shield's infection control products are sold through major IT and healthcare distributors worldwide.
