UMTS Radio Analyzer helps discover optimal RAN parameters.

Press Release Summary:

RANalysis UMTS Radio Access Network (RAN)analyzer helps operators with issues such as traffic load balancing, handoff overhead management, and interference control. Vendor independent analyzer supports radio optimization processes that carriers may have in place, and integrates with radio engineers' daily optimization and planning workflows. It enables carriers to conduct post-capture and analysis network cleaning and ad hoc investigations of reported problems.

RADCOM Introduces Radio Access Network (RAN) Analysis Solution

3GSM World Congress - Barcelona, Spain, February 13 -- RADCOM Ltd. (NASDAQ: RDCM), a leading network test and service monitoring solutions provider, today introduced the RANalysis, a comprehensive UMTS RAN traffic analyzer. This unique solution helps carriers discover optimal RAN parameters including antenna and power settings. Eschewing the commonly used, but less efficient, site-by-site technique, the UMTS Radio Analyzer takes a session-wide approach that gives operators a view of the entire network.

It helps operators solve three of the most challenging WCDMA cell site issues, traffic load balancing, handoff overhead management, and interference control. By identifying network-wide traffic versus capacity issues, the solution gives operators the visibility they need to balance traffic. By reducing interference, it lessens the operator's need for additional RAN resources, substantially reducing infrastructure costs. Additionally, by providing key RAN statistics and analyses, the RANalysis helps carriers predict future network performance according to expected traffic growth.

Vendor independent, the RANalysis supports Radio optimization processes carriers may already have in place. It can be fully integrated with Radio engineers' daily optimization and planning workflows to help them make significant improvements in their networks' reliability and availability.

"Many of the service problems experienced by UMTS subscribers are due to malfunctioning in the UTRAN and especially in the RF," said Doron Milchtaich - RADCOM's Director of Product Management, Cellular Solutions. "Currently, carriers do not have the ability to easily pinpoint RF problems. However, using RADCOM's RANalysis, they can now routinely conduct post-capture and analysis network cleaning as well as ad hoc investigations of reported problems."
