Sonics to Display New Touch Screen Ultrasonic Power Supply at AATExpo

(Newtown, CT USA) At AATExpo, Sonics & Materials, Inc. will be demonstrating their new SmartControl series of power supplies, which brings the benefits of color touch-panel technology to a full line of sophisticated microprocessor-controlled ultrasonic welding generators.

User-friendly navigation, intuitive command flow and vivid graphics highlight multiple menus designed for fully automatic control across the 40, 20 and 15 kHz welding frequencies. The SmartControl series provides power ranging from 400 to 6000 watts for Sonics' ultrasonic welding presses and actuators (both new and existing models).

For maximum versatility all units offer Digital Time, Energy, and Height-based weld modes; automatic frequency tuning (matching the generator to the "stack" frequency); digital amplitude control; multiple job storage; and Sonics' latest pioneering innovation - a convenient digital stack frequency and wattage display.

Additional features include digital force triggering; multiple job storage; PLC I/O ports for externalcommunications; and upper and lower weld mode limit settings. All units include soft-start overload protection circuitry; load regulation circuitry; line voltage regulation circuitry; and good part / bad part output signaling.
