Seco-Carboloy Announces Digital Imaging Options Now Available on all PWB Tool Presetters
Warren, Mich., January 29, 2002 - Now all shops can enjoy the benefits of increased machine uptime, more accurate tool setups and better tool inspection and measurement with new digital imaging options available on all PWB Tool Master Presetters from Seco-Carboloy. The new imaging technologies, E-PRO and T-CAM, perform digital measurement using a video camera and computer logic. T-CAM technology, available on the TM310 and TM250 presetters, features a black and white CMOS camera and a touch pad on the screen. The 4.7" graphic display provides the user with easy-to follow operating dialog and illustration options. For enhanced productivity, automatic recognition of the tool shape provides a repetitive measuring accuracy of +/-2µ. With T-CAM, several different measurements can be made simultaneously including tool radius measurement and angle determination. E-PRO (electronic projector), available on TM250 and TM4 style presetters, features a black and white CMOS camera and a larger TFT color screen. With a user-friendly, mouse-activated dialog display, the E-PRO has a high level of built-in intelligence. During the presetting process, tool tip radii ranging between .012 in. and .787 in. and tool tip angles are automatically calculated and displayed in the status window. In addition, the E-PRO features a graphic adjustment aid for both the X and Z axes to ensure positioning accuracy up to one micron, independent of the operator. PWB Presetters, from Seco-Carboloy, are available in three different families - TM310, a contact presetter with dial indicator to set/measure tools with a maximum diameter of 12.20 in. and maximum tool height of 19.69 in.; TM250, a non-contact presetter with a 110mm projector to set/measure tools with a maximum diameter of 9.84 in. and a maximum tool height of 19.69 in.; and TM4, a motorized presetter with a 150mm projector that can handle diameters up to 23.62 in. and tool heights up to 35.43 in.
