Original Press Release:

New Arrow Hart® Temporary Power Solutions from Cooper Wiring Devices Provides Safe, Mission-Critical Power

PEACHTREE CITY, GA., November 20, 2008 - Cooper Wiring Devices, a division of Cooper Industries, today announced the introduction of a new line of Arrow Hart® Commercial and Industrial Specification Grade Temporary Power equipment for the delivery of safe, reliable power.

The new line consists of three groups of products: RhinoBox(TM) Temporary Power Centers, Portable Outlet Boxes and Portable GFCIs. All three groups of these new Arrow Hart® products provide a full line of dependable and durable temporary power products to stay safely connected on the jobsite, avoiding the power interruptions that slow down work in the field.

RhinoBox(TM) Temporary Power Center offers "plug & power" capability, multiple configuration options, and a variety of cord sets and adapters. Available in NEMA 3R (outdoor use) and NEMA 1 (indoor use) enclosures, the power boxes safely centralize and distribute hub and spoke power. The unique patented stackable design allows multiple RhinoBox units to lock together for safe transport and storage. Waterproof receptacle covers and flip-up clear polycarbonate circuit breaker cover prevent nuisance tripping and protect from damage and weather. Ratings are clearly marked on devices for easy identification, and a large label has easy-to-read safety and testing instructions. The weather-resistant powder-coated paint on the enclosure is a high visibility OSHA safety red. Tough 50A cord sets and adapters complement the line with nylon or armored housings that resist impact in abusive environments.

Arrow Hart's Portable Outlet Boxes provide a quality bridge between power distribution points and are especially useful for pendant station drops and stringer sets. Built to withstand the elements, these industrial grade portable outlet boxes offer a safe, durable and efficient power solution for distribution in industrial plants, building maintenance areas, food and beverage facilities, construction sites, shipyards, entertainment and expositions. A copper bonding strap ensures that the device and box are bonded to the grounding conductors (required in Canada). The design of the integral cover plate mounting holes eliminates the problem of inserts loosening over time. Molded Alcryn® housing provides superior long-term durability, is virtually crush-proof, and its non-metallic and non-conductive properties protect against electrical shock. The integrated strain relief system will not loosen or pull out over time, and optional heavy-duty spring-loaded flip lids protect devices when not in use. Available in yellow or black in pendant or feedthrough models, Arrow Hart's portable outlet boxes are complemented by six weather-resistant black cover plate configurations for flexibility on the job.

Arrow Hart's wet-location listed Portable GFCIs protect from electrical injury from ground fault hazards indoors and outdoors. This powerful protection is necessary when connecting to power generators, agricultural equipment, portable electric heaters, submersible pumps, industrial washers, outdoor signs and vending equipment. The Portable GFCIs are available in wide variety of configurations, including 15, 20, 30 and 50 Amp with both manual and automatic resetting options available.

The compact body housings are made of high-strength polycarbonate housing for durability in rough environments, and are either rated NEMA 3R, 4X or 6P for indoor/outdoor/wet use. Flying lead versions are available for wiring in the field or equipment supply. The electro-magnetically latched contacts will not delatch in harsh conditions, and dual indication lights display power and fault status at a glance.

"These new products complement the well-respected Arrow Hart name", said Jeff Mehrer, Director of Industrial Marketing and Product Management at Cooper Wiring Devices. "We're excited to add this line-up of heavy-duty power equipment that provides safe connections in demanding field conditions".
