Server Technology Launches Switched, Mixed-Outlet, 30Amp CDU (Cabinet Power Distribution Unit) with Middle LED Display and Network Ports for Overhead Busways 3-Phase, Wye, 208V model now available

(Reno, NV), June 18, 2009 - Server Technology, the industry leader for Power Distribution Unit and Management Solutions, announces the availability of the CW-24V mixed-outlet Cabinet Power Distribution Unit for overhead power and busways. Consisting of (18) IEC C13 outlets, (6) IEC C19 outlets, and (1) NEMA 5-20R 110V outlet, this Switched CDU has middle entry for network, serial, and environmental connections along with a top power cord entry. This situates the ports and LED current monitors half way up the 69in (1753mm) vertical tower. This CDU provides the ultimate flexibility when connecting to overhead power or busways, like the Starline Track Busway, but is also accommodating if your power is delivered through the floor. The local current monitor, positioned on the center of the CDU, can easily be inverted via the web GUI or serial interface to provide True RMS current monitoring for onsite verification of the current draw (in Amps) on each power circuit, no matter which way the CDU is installed in the rack.

This 3-Phase model provides high power distribution, delivering 208-240V at 30-Amps. Along with the original 24 outlets on the CDU, an expansion CDU can be linked to the master. Both the master and expansion can be controlled under one IP address. This product uses fuses for brancfh circuit protection. The tool-less fuse retractors allow for easy access for the replacement of fuses and meet the UL 60950-1 requirement for branch circuit protection.

The Switched product line allows for network monitoring, management, and control of the CDU using either the serial interface, internal web interface or the Sentry Power Manager (SPM) Software System. Each Switched CDU that Server Technology produces, including the mixed-outlet model with central network ports and displays, supports two external ten-foot probes used to monitor both temperature and humidity. Receive SNMP or email-based alerts when power or environmental conditions exceed thresholds and you can also preset automatic actions to be taken when conditions exceed user defined thresholds (such as having the CDU initiate a graceful shutdown of an attached device). Assign users specific access rights to designated outlets or groups. Reboot a single or dual-power server with one command.
