Tennant Company Further Extends FaST(TM) Offering with Introduction of 8410 Riding Sweeper/Scrubber with FaST

Company also raises the bar on productivity with new four-liter FaST-PAK(TM) chemical cartridge

MINNEAPOLIS (July 6, 2005)-Tennant Company (NYSE:TNC), one of the world's leading manufacturers of surface maintenance equipment, today introduced its 8410 riding sweeper/scrubber with FaST (Foam-activated Scrubbing Technology). The introduction further extends the company's FaST offering, bringing to four the number of medium to large model Tennant scrubbers and sweeper/scrubbers equipped with FaST technology. In addition, the company today introduced its four-liter FaST-PAK, a concentrated detergent cartridge that will allow users to clean for up to three times longer than with conventional scrubbing. All four FaST-equipped industrial machines, including the 7300 and 7400 riding power scrubbers and the 8300 and 8410 riding sweeper/scrubbers, now come standard with the four-liter FaST-PAK.

"The introduction of the 8410 with FaST comes on the heels of the successful roll-out of the 7400 riding power scrubber with FaST," said Rick Hammond, senior product manager with Tennant Company. "Further extending our FaST offering means users who rely on the power and durability of our mid- to large-sized machines can now reap the safety and productivity rewards of FaST."

FaST, a patented foam scrubbing system, helps users achieve the highest-quality floor cleaning standards with 70 percent less cleaning solution. FaST foam attracts and removes soil as well as old, slippery detergent residue, resulting in a 21 percent increase in floor traction as certified by the National Floor Safety Institute. In addition, the four floor-cleaning detergents used in the FaST system to create FaST foam have NSF International approval for use in and around food processing areas. FaST is the only automated scrubbing system that creates cleaner, safer floors that reduce the risk of slip-and-fall accidents.

The four-liter FaST-PAK, introduced on the 8410 riding sweeper/scrubber, is ideal for larger facilities that want to further improve productivity while both achieving the highest level of safety and maintaining a high level of clean. "In general, larger facilities use machines that are designed to clean more floor area, so it makes sense they would need to carry more detergent on board. The new four-liter FaST-PAK matches that longer cleaning capability by providing up to two million square feet of cleaning," said Hammond.

The four-liter FaST-PAK allows users to scrub floors for up to 300 percent longer than with conventional scrubbing; lasts up to 25 hours, thereby doubling cleaning time over conventional 55-gallon detergent drums; and increases productivity by up to two hours per day by reducing empty/fill cycles. As with the two-liter FaST-PAK, the four-liter FaST-PAK provides safe handling and safe disposal due to its pre-measured concentrate packaging.
