INTRAAX® -- The Industry's First Integrated System -- Refined for Autohaulers, Moving Vans, Drop-Frames

CANTON, OH-Hendrickson unveils an integrated suspension system for autohaulers and drop-frame vans - the INTRAAX® AANLS 20K.

Drawing on patented INTRAAX® tapered-beam technology and unmatched design experience, Hendrickson developed a short-beam system in a capacity of 20,000-pounds that retains all of the INTRAAX durability and low maintenance advantages.

AANLS 20K delivers an air ride package that is more than 120 pounds per axle lighter than comparable suspensions.

While the lighter weight of the tapered-beam construction allows haulers to carry more cargo on each run, the AANLS delivers the exceptional freight protection, superior performance and rugged durability that has made INTRAAX the recognized leader in quality and the most popular air-ride suspension on the market.

Offered in ride heights from 6.25 to 12 inches, the INTRAAX AANLS with its short-beam design provides a compact package ideal for the tight confines of the autohauler and drop-frame trailer designs. In addition, the system offers the choice of 16.5-inch brakes or the smaller 15-inch brake configuration needed for 19.5-inch tires.

"Scheduled for an early 2003 production launch, the AANLS brings the weight savings and unmatched benefits and options of INTRAAX to fleets and owner operators of specialized trailers including autohaulers, moving vans, electronics trailers and high-cube pup trailers," says John Morgan, trailer product manager with Hendrickson.

The AANLS provides all of the features of the patented INTRAAX including the industry's first standard Cam Tube System that enhances S-cam alignment and extends brake bushing life and Hendrickson's neutral-toe axle that improves tire life and fuel mileage.

The industry's first integrated suspension - axle - brake system, INTRAAX provides a rigid axle/beam connection combined with the proven TRI-FUNCTIONAL® BUSHING resulting in an ideal combination of ride softness and stability. Standard QUIK-ALIGN® delivers fast, easy, accurate axle alignment.

Hendrickson established the advantages of the tapered-beam INTRAAX with literally millions of service miles on every major highway in North America. This was achieved through technology adapted from our proven VANTRAAX® slider system. With tens of thousands of units on the road today, VANTRAAX has grown to be the first choice of air-ride van operators since its introduction some five vears ago.

A variety of READY-TO-ROLL® (RTR®) options such as long-life wheel ends including HUS(TM), Hendrickson's unitized hub system with a seven-year limited warranty, and HXS® extended service brakes allow fleets and ownier operators to customize their systems to meet specific hauling needs and customer demands.

Hendrickson Tire Inflation System (HTIS), a responsive tire maintenance system that automatically maintains inflation to maximize tire life and improve productivity and fuel economy, is another popular RTR option.

Hendrickson's Value Package Option makes wheel-end spec'ing easy by matching extended-service hub assemblies with configurations meeting the broad needs of fleets and owner operators. Ductile iron and aluminum hub products provide additional low-cost and lightweight options.
