Densglass Silver(TM) Residential Structural Wall Sheathing From G-P Gypsum Now Manufactured In ½ Inch Thickness

ATLANTA - DensGlass Silver(TM) residential structural wall sheathing from G-P Gypsum is now being manufactured in ½" thickness. New ½" DensGlass Silver has structural values comparable to wood fiberboard and related structural materials. It can be used on the exterior of the building envelope as a structural panel when walls are properly braced or applied to IRC 602.10.3 Method 5.

This unique exterior gypsum wall sheathing resists moisture and mold (when tested, as manufactured, per ASTM D 3273) in residential applications. Engineered using G-P Gypsum's proven DensGuard® glass mat technology, DensGlass Silver features glass mats on the front and back of the board along with a moisture-resistant core featuring reduced organics. The glass mats and core allow the product to offer superior moisture and mold resistance.

DensGlass Silver can be used as a wall sheathing over steel or wood framing up to 24" O.C. Virtually any cladding, including composition, stone, metal, brick, wood, stucco and plywood siding, can be applied over DensGlass Silver when the cladding is fastened directly into the framing. DensGlass Silver should not be used as a sheathing for EIFS, for roofs, floors or as a nail base.

Because it is ½" gypsum sheathing, DensGlass Silver is widely recognized in model building codes. It is easy to install and provides excellent stability, with no warping, rippling or buckling. And contractors will appreciate the fact that the historical prices of G-P Gypsum's DensGuard products have not been subject to the types of fluctuations associated with wood-based commodities.

DensGlass Silver residential sheathing comes with a limited warranty that provides up to 90 days of coverage against in-place exposure damage and a three-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. The product is not a nail base and is not for roof or floor sheathing applications.
