HAYWARD, Calif., -- CoverMate®has introduced an extra-large size of its popular stretch-to-fit foodservice covers that offer a convenient way to keep food fresh. The new size is designed to fit full and half-size hotel and catering pans, cafeteria trays, large serving bowls and platters. Since introducing the foodservice covers in 2010, CoverMate has added additional capacity, which has allowed for a 50% price reduction making CoverMate the most cost effective way to quickly cover food and keep it fresh.
The CoverMate foodservice line now includes four sizes making it the ideal solution for any foodservice need, fitting virtually every item in the commercial kitchen. The new extra-large size covers are packaged in easy-to-dispense 20 count sleeves and are sold 400 covers to a case.
"We've had a great response to our foodservice covers and wanted to make them work even harder by fitting the largest trays, platters and pans," said Claus Sadlier, President & CEO of CoverMate Inc. "Not only did we accomplish that, we significantly cut our production cost making them even more economical than conventional plastic wrap and container lids."
CoverMate food covers help eliminate spoilage and prevent odor migration where various food ingredients and prepared items are stored in walk-in coolers and freezers. They can be used repeatedly to cover, uncover and recover the same item, making them environmentally friendly and cost effective. The covers feature a patent pending FlexBand® that creates a secure seal over any size or shape container while enabling them to stretch freely, even after repeated use. Other patent pending features include built-in corners for fitting round or rectangular dishware, and vents that allow steam to escape during microwave re-heating. The covers are made from heavy duty, clear FDA-compliant food-grade material, free of BPA and PVC.
You can order products from the CoverMate Foodservice line through your local foodservice distributor or you can buy directly at www.covermatefoodservice.com

The price per cover ranges from $.04 for a small, $.06 for medium, $.10 for large and $.15 for the extra large size, providing a substantial savings over the cost of a comparable size dome lid which typically sells for over $1.25 each.
