Adhesives Research, Inc. Introduces ARclad® 0068

Repulpable Splicing Tape for Paper and Paperboard Grades

GLEN ROCK, Pa. (January 17, 2002) - Adhesives Research, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance splicing tapes, introduces ARclad® 0068, a new product in the Company's line of advanced polymer technology in repulpable splicing tapes.

ARclad® 0068 is a high-strength, double-faced repulpable splicing tape with an aggressive adhesive for splicing hard-to-adhere-to paper and paperboard grades such as coated, uncoated, offset, tablet, rotogravure, kraft, toweling, linerboard, and specialty grade papers. ARclad® 0068 maintains tack over a
wide range of environmental conditions, has a highly visible green color to allow operators to clearly identify splices during applications, and is suitable for use with automatic core starters and slitters-rewinders when performing core starting and roll finishing splicing applications. The superior strength of the heavy carrier enables the tape to be pulled independently across the web without the release liner. This high-strength tape may also be used in stationary tape dispensers available from Adhesives Research.

ARclad® 0068 meets the TAPPI UM213 Procedure A standards as tested at Adhesives Research and is available in larger roll sizes of 72 and 150 yards to promote efficiencies and minimize waste. Samples are available by contacting Connie Merrill, Adhesives Research at 1-800-445-6240, extension 3482.

Adhesives Research's complete line of ARclad® high-performance splicing tapes has been developed for splicing applications in the pulp and paper, flexible packaging, converting, laminating, extrusion and metallizing industries.
